PortalVision™ offers far more than simply film replacement. With PortalVision, clinicians can image and evaluate during the treatment course, speeding delivery and accuracy.
PortalVision is the megavoltage imaging system from Varian®, used on the Trilogy™ system and optional on any standard Clinac® linear accelerator. Amorphous silicon technology is used to ensure the highest possible image quality. PortalVision fully integrates with the Clinac linear accelerator to bridge the treatment planning, record and verify, and QA processes.
By blending high resolution with a very small file size, PortalVision aS1000 delivers truly unmatched low dose, high-quality images. With exceptional resolution, image comparison is easier, quicker, and more accurate than comparable systems.
PortalVision helps ensure treatment plan verification, accurate patient setup, effective treatment delivery, and more successful patient outcomes with feature-rich functions that:
PortalVision's ability to image during treatment allows clinicians to verify accurate positioning without increased doses to the patient. The images become an important part of the documentation of accurate delivery of the prescription in the patient's record.
This technique is identical to acquiring pretreatment port films or verification port films taken during the treatment. However, PortalVision works in conjunction with the Real-Time Position Management (RPM™) respiratory gating system to automatically acquire megavoltage radiographs during the correct phase of the respiratory cycle. The gated megavolt radiographs are then compared to the gated digitally reconstructed radiographs from a 4D CT scan.
With an efficient online review capability with the 4D integrated treatment console, clinicians can easily review patient positioning before treatment. The reference images for all fields are automatically loaded with the plan and can be compared quantitatively with the newly acquired portal images. Automated comparison tools make this a quick process and the resultant quantitative data is quickly available to the operator.
PortalVision is a fully integrated part of the ARIA™ Oncology Information System so images are instantly availably for review at any location within the department. A comprehensive set of tools makes registration of portal images with reference images automatic and patient notes can be used to communicate any changes on the treatment machine to the therapists.
Preprogrammed portal imaging templates form part of the patient's prescription so portal images are automatically requested during the treatment cycle. With the ARIA Oncology Information System, images acquired using PortalVision are available throughout the department to review whenever and wherever necessary.
Positioned by the industry leading, motorized robotic, three-axis Exact® arm, PortalVision aS1000 offers complete flexibility in imager placement.
